TITANIUM GRADE
Grade 23 Titanium
Ti-6Al-4V ELI, an extra-low-interstitial variant commonly specified for specialized medical applications.
OVERVIEW
Why Choose Grade 23 Titanium?
Grade 23 titanium, also known as Ti-6Al-4V ELI, is an extra-low interstitial version of Grade 5 titanium. It combines high strength, low density and corrosion resistance with improved fracture toughness and ductility for demanding medical and high-performance applications.
The controlled interstitial content of Grade 23 makes it particularly suitable where material quality, mechanical performance and reliable traceability are important. Final material selection should always be confirmed against the applicable specification, product form and service requirements.
Medical and Implant Applications
Grade 23 titanium is widely associated with medical and surgical applications, including implant components and precision medical devices. Depending on the required product form and specification, material may be supplied for machining into orthopedic, dental and other implant-related components.
For medical applications, buyers should specify the required standard, dimensions, condition, testing requirements and certification at the quotation stage. ASTM F136 is commonly referenced for wrought Ti-6Al-4V ELI alloy used in surgical implant applications.
Mechanical Performance and Precision Manufacturing
Ti-6Al-4V ELI provides a useful combination of strength, toughness, corrosion resistance and biocompatibility. These characteristics make Grade 23 suitable for precision-machined components where consistent material properties and dimensional control are important.
Grade 23 may also be considered for selected aerospace and high-performance engineering applications where the ELI chemistry and associated toughness requirements are specified.
Specifications and Supply Requirements
EST Metal can support Grade 23 titanium enquiries according to the required product form, dimensions, quantity and specification. Relevant requirements may include ASTM F136 for surgical implant material and ASTM B348 for titanium bar and billet where applicable to the ordered product and project requirements.
When requesting a quotation, please provide the required grade, specification, product form, diameter or dimensions, length, quantity, surface condition and any inspection or certification requirements. This allows the material and documentation requirements to be reviewed before quotation.
