MATERIAL GUIDE
Titanium Grades
Compare commonly specified titanium grades by strength, corrosion resistance, formability and typical application. Select a grade below to review its characteristics, then confirm the final material specification with our technical team.
GRADE SELECTION
Choose the Right Titanium Grade for Your Application
Titanium grades are selected according to the required combination of mechanical strength, corrosion resistance, fabrication characteristics and service environment. Commercially pure titanium grades are widely used where corrosion resistance and formability are important, while titanium alloys are selected when higher strength or specialized performance is required.
MATERIAL SELECTION
Understanding Common Titanium Grades
Commercially Pure Titanium
Grade 1 and Grade 2 are commercially pure titanium grades. Grade 1 emphasizes ductility and formability, while Grade 2 provides a widely used balance of strength, corrosion resistance and fabrication performance for industrial equipment and components.
High-Strength Titanium Alloys
Grade 5 Ti-6Al-4V is one of the most widely specified titanium alloys when higher mechanical strength and a favorable strength-to-weight ratio are required. Grade 9 Ti-3Al-2.5V combines useful strength with good formability and is commonly considered for tubing and engineered components.
Corrosion-Resistant and Specialized Grades
Grade 7 and Grade 12 are used for demanding corrosion environments, including chemical processing and heat-transfer applications. Grade 23 Ti-6Al-4V ELI is a controlled interstitial version of Ti-6Al-4V commonly associated with medical and precision applications.
PRODUCT FORMS
Titanium Products by Material Form
After selecting a titanium grade, the next step is to confirm the required product form, dimensions, specification, surface condition and quantity. EST Metal supplies titanium materials for industrial, engineering and precision manufacturing requirements.
