TITANIUM GRADE

Grade 9 Titanium

Ti-3Al-2.5V, a higher-strength alloy used in lightweight tubular and engineered applications.

TITANIUM ALLOY

Why Choose Grade 9 Titanium?

Grade 9 titanium, commonly identified as Ti-3Al-2.5V, combines higher strength than commercially pure titanium with good formability and a favorable strength-to-weight ratio. These characteristics make the alloy particularly useful where lightweight tubing and formed components must provide reliable mechanical performance.

Grade 9 occupies a useful position between commercially pure titanium grades and higher-strength alloys such as Grade 5. It can be considered for applications requiring moderate-to-high strength while retaining fabrication characteristics suitable for tube and engineered component production.

Strength, Formability and Tubing Performance

Ti-3Al-2.5V is widely associated with titanium tubing because it offers an effective combination of strength, low density and cold-forming capability. The alloy can support designs where reducing component weight is important without moving directly to the higher strength and processing requirements of Ti-6Al-4V.

Product form, dimensional tolerances, heat treatment condition and mechanical property requirements should be defined according to the applicable specification and the intended service environment.

Aerospace and Hydraulic Applications

Grade 9 titanium is commonly considered for aerospace tubing, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, lightweight structural tubing, performance equipment and other engineered applications requiring corrosion resistance together with a high strength-to-weight ratio.

For tubing applications, buyers should specify outside diameter, wall thickness, length, tolerance, surface condition and any testing or inspection requirements needed for the project.

Specifications and Supply Requirements

EST Metal supplies Grade 9 titanium products according to customer drawings, dimensions and specification requirements. Material requirements should identify the applicable standard, product form, dimensions, quantity, condition and required certification or inspection documentation.
