DUPLEX & SUPER DUPLEX FASTENERS
Duplex Stainless Steel Fastener Grades: 2205 & 2507
A practical guide to selecting duplex and super duplex stainless steel bolts, nuts, studs and washers for corrosive and demanding industrial service.
MATERIAL SELECTION
2205 and 2507 Duplex Fastener Materials
Duplex stainless steels combine austenitic and ferritic microstructures and are commonly selected where strength and corrosion resistance are important. Fastener material should be selected according to the required grade, product specification, service environment and customer drawing.
2205 Duplex
Common UNS designations include S31803 and S32205. 2205 is widely used for industrial fasteners requiring a combination of mechanical strength and corrosion resistance.
2507 Super Duplex
UNS S32750 is a commonly specified super duplex grade for more demanding corrosive service. Final material selection should follow the applicable specification and project requirements.
Fastener Types
Supply can include bolts, nuts, screws, studs, threaded rods and washers manufactured to standard dimensions or customer drawings.
